Login & Registration
To Login:
- Press My Albums, Upload, or Settings, then press Login to display the login fields.
- Enter your username/email address and password.
- Press Login.
To register:
- Press Join now. It's free! The registration screen displays.
- Enter the required information.
- Press I Accept, Sign Me Up! to create your account.
- Correct any errors (e.g., username unavailable, etc.), as necessary.
Upon successful account creation, you are automatically logged in with your new credentials.
Find Stuff
To find stuff:
- Swipe your finger across the screen from right to left to display categories. Swipe the other direction to go back.
- Press a category to display sub-categories or media in the category.
- Press a media file to display the full-size view.
- Press the Back button to return to the results.
To search:
- Press the arrow beside the Search field to choose a Search Type: images, videos, or people. The default is images.
- Press the Search field to enter a search term.
- Enter a search term and press Done or Enter on the keyboard or press the Search icon. Results display.
- Press a media file to display the full-size view.
- Press the Back button to return to the results.
To clear searches:
- Press the Menu button.
- Press Clear Searches. This option only displays if you have search terms to clear.
My Albums
Press the Menu button. Then:
- Press Albums to view a list of albums, then press an album in the list to display the album contents. Press a media file in an album to display the full-size view.
- Press back arrow [album name] to go back to the previous album. This option only displays in sub-albums.
Albums
Press the Menu button.
- Press Media to return to the media in your album.
- Press Create Album to create a new album.
To delete an EMPTY album:
- Press and hold an empty album in the list of albums. The option is not available if the album has media.
- Press Delete Album, and press Yes to confirm the delete.
Full-size view
When you press a media file, the full-size view displays. In the full-size view:
- Press the icons to share to Facebook and/or Twitter.
If you are logged in with an account that's already connected to your Facebook and Twitter accounts, icon(s) display. Press an icon to share to that service, then press Share.
If you have not connected to a service or want to connect to another service:
- Press Add, then press the icon for the service you want to configure.
- Enter your login details for the service and allow My Photobucket to connect.
- Press the icon(s) to share to that service.
- If a "play" icon appears over the media, tapping the screen will cause it to play.
Press the Menu button.
- Press Share Media to share your media by email or MMS.
- Press View Links to tap-and-copy links to the media.
- Press Download to download the media to your phone. Choose Set as wallpaper if you want a photo to be your wallpaper.
- Press Edit Info to enter or edit a title and description for the media.
- Press Move to move the media to another album.
- Press More to display more options.
- Press Delete to delete the media.
- Press Copy to my Album to copy media to your album. This option is available if the media's owner hasn't disabled it.
- Press the Back button to exit full-size view and display the album.
Upload
When you upload, a list of your failed uploads is stored until you clear them or they upload successfully. A message displays to let you know the status: "Failed, will retry later" or "Failed, tap to retry".
- Press the Upload Image or Upload Video button to upload media from your phone's gallery. You can select multiple images or videos to upload at one time.
- Press Done to start the upload.
Press the Menu button.
- Press Capture New... to capture new media and upload it.
- Press Upload... to choose existing media to upload.
- Press Clear All Items to clear the upload list.
Settings
Automatic Uploads & Auto-start
Automatic upload and auto-start run in the background and have a low impact on battery life. When enabled, media is automatically uploaded as it's taken, even when the Photobucket app is closed. Also, upload automatically resumes if it's interrupted. If you do not want Photobucket running in the background, disable Auto Upload/Auto Start, and use the manual upload method to upload your media.
- Log into your Photobucket account.
- Press Settings, then press Upload Options....
- Press Auto Upload/Auto Start to enable/disable automatic uploads and auto-start for ALL media taken on the phone, and enable/disable auto-start for ALL media taken on the phone, even when the app is closed.
Known Issues
- Problems viewing categories and media: If you see a message, "Unable to connect to Photobucket. Please try again later.", most likely you have a poor or non-existent network connection. Check your mobile/wifi connection, and try again.
- Phones (Samsung Galaxy S Epic, and possibly others) exhibit slow performance on 3G. If you see slow performance on 3G, switch to WiFi.
- Multi-picker very slow on HTC Eris & Hero. You will see the same slowness in your gallery on the phone. Check that your SD card isn't too full. If your card is very full, and your gallery performance is degraded as well, delete images from your SD card to improve performance on the phone and multi-picker performance in the Photobucket App.
- If you have trouble downloading images or videos, and the error indicates that you need an SD Card: Make sure SD Card or other external storage is plugged in and mounted and make sure there is enough free room on your SD Card or external storage.
